dc.description.abstract An analysis is performed to study the combined effect of radiation and conduction on magneto hydrodynamic (I\.1HD) nalural convection fiow of an incompressible and electrically conducting fluid along a vertical flat plate. 1he boundary layer equations govcming the flow are shov,Tl into dimensionless non-linear form using appropriate transformations and numerical solutions of the governing equations are obtained by adopting implicit finite difference method together with Kellerbox scheme. A steady free convection boundary layer flow along a vertical flat plate of length I and thickness b in presence ofuniforrn transverse magnetic field is studied. In this analysis the flow field is significantly influenced by the effect of radiation and conductioll. We observed that there is an identical effect designed for selected values ofre1ated parameters in the flo"" region and also found excellent agreement with the work of Pozzi- Lupo and Merkin- Pop. In the third part, the above effects on magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) natural convection boundary layer flow with Vi,COllSdissipation along a vertical flat plate have been analyzed. The leading equations for sueb flow are derived b" introducing same transformations. In this dissertation, we have evaluated numerically the surface shear slress in terms uf local skin friction, rale of heat transfer in terms of local Ni.lsscltnumber, velocity profile, temperature distribution and Si.lrface temperature associate with selecled parameters including magnetic parameter, radiation parameter, Prandtl number and viscous dissipation parameter. The resulting solutions are presented graphically fur different values of mentioned parameters, en_US
