dc.description.abstract Production planning and control within modern manufacturing enterprise~ is a very c"mple~ process. lhis paper consists the applicability of linear regression analysis in foreca, ting This paper presents a review of the use of linear regression analysis incase of forecasting , Pmduction Scheduling Techniques like Shortest Processing Time (SPI) Rule and Ganl( Chart, Production planning amI control is an involved and complex process which lies at the heart of operations for manufacturing companies. This paper accomplishes some data of production scheduling and forecasting of one of the renowned pharmaceutical organizations of Bangladesh. Wim the help of the supplied data of the organization linear regression analysis, production scheduling-priority technique SPT and Gantt Charts have been prepared. In linear regression analysis the result depends on me residual value. Gantt Charts are prepared for some of the specific products to preview the whole working schedule. Through SPT total processing time is being calculated and compared with the existing technique. In pharmaceutical organi;;ation a specific product passes through several numbers of machines, 80, in that case n jobs in m machine technique might be more applicable for production scheduling. These techniques can minimize the stock value of raw materials, optimize the production planning, en_US
