Development of a library management system

Abstract

The impact of the revolution in information technology on the academic community is assessed. Libraries playa vital part here. In the context of libraries it application can be justified only if the users of the library and information service and their informational needs warrant this. This project is undertaken to develop a system that can be used to manage library resources efficiently and effectively. The developed software has been designed with the assistance of professional librarians incorporating their requirements for a flexible and powerful tool for managing and processing library resources.
