| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of the Nuclear Medicine Imaging procedure IS to!provide visual information, both anatomical and functional, about difterent organs The mformation quality is dIrectly related to the perfonnance characterIStIcs of different parameters of the imagmg system itself. The aim of thc present work \'•.as to study a few of these performance parameters that affect the image forming process of Gamma Camcra. Spatial Resolution, Energy Resolution and Effect of Count Density wcre considered as the most int1l1enlialparameter In I producing hIgh quality images. A Total Performance Phantom was fapricated locally for evaluatmg the performance parameter~of the Gamma Camera. This phantom costs comparatively much less, but can provide comparable rcsults which can be used to check the Gamma Camera performance with reasonable accuracy. Experiments were pcrformed using a Medx-LF-61 Anger Camera and the phantom following the relevant recommendations made in IAEA TECDOC- 602. The Energy Resolution and Spatial Resolution wcre calculated from the experiments and thc effect of the Count Density WIthActivity, WindoIv v.,'idth and Source to Collimator distance was studied from the Images. The results have been compared wah standard values, | en_US |
