Abstract:
In the present work, dose distribution at d,fferent organs (other than the target organ)
for I'arious lield size(s) has been mea,ured by TLD using Alderson Rando Phantom
dllTmg radiotherapy treatment procedllTe_Three orgnns such as lung, larynx and the
pelvis have been considered as the larget organs. During !lIC treatment of any oflhese
threc targct organs it ha, been observed that the nearcst orgons of the target organ
bave a hlgh risk in de,-e1oping falal and non-faml cancer. The relative ri,k faclor of
the healthy organ or tissuc as well ~s whole body of the cancer patients was obtaIned
by applying ICRP-60 (1990) rccommendation_ Proper .,hlddmg techmque should be
applied for lhe protection of those risk organ., from lhe leakage and scattered
radiatlon Once the relati vc risk factor of the organs are found during the treatment of
any wrgd (cancerous) organ then it would he possible to minimiLe thc dose to the
other tissuc organs by applying proper shielding or filter and treatmcnt pl~uning will
bc more aceuratc. The lesults obtained in tblS sludy would bc helpful for linding out
the hIgh risk critical organs with iheir relative rIsk factor for each target organ_
