Study of quality management system in software firms of Bangladesh

Abstract

Quality Management System (QMS) is an essential clement for effective management and sustainable operation of software industry, The hi;tory of imroduction ofQMS in software industry and its bencfits have been dcscribcd in Chapter I. Briefinformation about boftwarc development process has been sho"ll in Chapter 2. Detailed descnption about !ntemational Organization of Standardization (ISO) system and its implication in software industry have been presented in Chapter 3. The process of standardiZ<ltion of software industry through Capability Maturity Model (CMM) and the different levels of CMM have been high-lighted in Chapter 4, Other standardization methods (TicklT, ITIL, SPICE) applied in software indust!), III limited scale have been presented in Chapter 5. Comparative assessmem of two most \videly used standards in software industry; International Organization of StandardiZ<ltion (ISO) and Capability Maturity Model (CMM) have been made in Chapter 6. Current status of Quality Management System (QMS) in software industrie~ of different cOlUltries and Bangladesh has been presented, Information gathered from some selected software organizations of Bangladesh through questionnaire and interview have been presented in Chapter 7.
