Extensive research work on the determination of stability
constants of complex compounds have been carried out .The
present work was undertaken with the objective of the
determination of stability constants of ternary complexes
containing biologically important ligands. The purpose of my
present research work is to carefull study in the preparation of
such metal complexes. For the preparation of the metal complexes
we have used Nickel and Copper and some other important
ligands. Folic acid is the primary ligands in every complexes.
Folic acid is an important amino acid but the use of the Folic acid
as drug as a vitamin B-complex has not been extensively studied
in relation to the effects on the health situation. The transition
metals have important biological functions in the living system.
Therefore, the interaction of the transition metals and the folic
acid study in vitro may provide important clue as regard the
effects in biological system.
Therefore, III the present research work, we have been
deteremined the formation constant of ternary complexes of the
type [MAL] where M=Cu(II) or Ni(II), A=Folic acid, L=Oxalic
acid, Glycine, a-alanine, Malonic acid, Imino diacetic acid,
Ethylene diamine, N,N-dimethylene diamine, Dipicolinic acid,

. Tryptophane, Ph-alanine, Adenosine triphosphate, Tyrosine, 1,10
Phenanthrolene, Ortho-phenylene diamine, Para-phenylene
diamine. The value of lllogk have been also calculated for the
stability of ternary complexes. The Protonation constant, binary
constant and ternary constat have been determined
potentiometrically USlllg SCOGS (Stability Constant of
Generalised Species) computer programme and the formation of
the complexes have been confirmed by cyclic voltammogram (CV)
and U.V.spectral studies. |
