Development of a management information system for the industrial investment of a commercial bank in Bangladesh

Abstract

As a service oriented industry it is cssentialto give prompt and quality service to the client ora eorrunercial bank It is also important to operate the organization dynamically 10 meet the challenge of the national and world market. To meet this requirement fa~ter infOffilahon dissemmation is the best optiun for a modem organilation. Computer based MIS is one uf the useful ways to convert the tmditional information system or process to an elfieient system. Investment division is one oflhe mOSIimportant business concerns of a commercial bank. It is very much essential to have a common database sy>tem to develop computer based MIS in such division. In this paper MIS of the investment/loan system of a commercial bank has been developed by llSing MS Access application package of Microsoft Corporation. By using this generalized model, the investment or loan & Advance or credit division of a bank, may he benefited, Dealing officer, middle management or top management of the bank will be able to access different information of the bank within a very short time by using this model. To make it more powerful & sel:ured sofuvare SQL server in addition to Oracle platform may be used. from where through networking all the branche> & head office may come into a common database network. As a result only one time data or informatiun will be inputted in the database from diffen:nt position of the whole investment procedure. It will be also possible to give different privilege at diJTcrellllevel as per decided by the management or system administrator.
