dc.description.abstract |
Today's Web applications nced a platform that is fast, maintainable, stable and
secure. This project work presents and implements an online transactional system
architecture for handling massive and load conditioning demands, and concurrency
of busy Internet secure services.
The bottleneck of Web content delivery is not serving static content but dynamic
content which requires data processing. For such web applications scalability can be
provided by a third party solution that caches application data and can maintain high
concurrency when the concurrent user quantities are unpredictable. We propose to
use a database cache for offloading the demand on a database-driven Web service.
This project work presents the design of a database cache. In this project work we
also study the security-scalability tradeoff, both formally and experimentally. We
begin by providing a method for statically identifying segments of the database that
can be encrypted without impacting scalability.
The system is designed and tested based on the present course registration
system and grade submission system of BUET as a model university. |
