Development of a Client/Server Type Information Management System Using PHP and MySQL

Abstract

This project is undertaken to develop a system that can be used to maintain and operate any medium and large scale superstores, shops, organisations etc. very efficiently and effectively through information management. Information management lies at the core of any successful business and proper information handling is crucial. In this project, this is accomplished by using PHP, a platform independent scripting language at the server-side and MySQL, the most popular database counterpart at the server end and PHP is the most popular server side scripting language and both are the open source. The entire interaction is to be accomplished by using web browser, either netscape nevigator or internet explorer.
