dc.description.abstract This work has attempted to investigate into deriving operating strategies for a photovoltaic generator (PYG) embedded in a high voltage grid that can be applied for security analysis and generator dispatch in a power system with PYGs. Such investigations are yet to be reported in the literatures. The operating strategies have been recommended based on extensive simulation studies with appropriate load flow models of one or more PYGs (each 50 MWpk capacity) embedded at a voltage controlled bus or a specified real and reactive power bus in two test systems of different characteristics viz. a 138 kY 5-bus system (day peak 400 MW) and a 138 kY 14-bus system (day peak 780 MW). en_US
