| dc.description.abstract | In this thesis, the effects of viscous dissipation on magnetohydrodynamics free convection flow along a vertical wavy surface in presence of heat generation/absorption have been investigated. The governing equations with associated boundary conditions for this phenomenon are converted to dimensionless form using suitable transformations. The transformed non-linear partial differential equations are then solved numerically using the implicit finite difference method with Keller-box scheme. Two cases have been considered; one is heat generation effect on MHD free convection along a vertical wavy surface in presence of viscous dissipation and the other is heat absorption effect on MHD free convection along a vertical wavy surface in presence of viscous dissipation. In both cases, the focus is on the viscous dissipation effect with relevant parameters along vertical wavy surface. Numerical results of the velocity and temperature profiles, the skin friction coefficient, the rate of heat transfer as well as the streamlines and isotherms for different values of the heat generation/absorption parameter Q, the magnetic parameter M, the viscous dissipation parameter Ec, the Prandtl number Pr and the amplitude of the wavy surface α are presented graphically. The comparison of the present numerical results with previously reported investigations are performed and the results show excellent agreement. | en_US |
