The University offers both undergraduate and post-graduate
programmes. The Course System has been introduced at the
undergraduate level from October2.1992 for tile academic session
1990-91. -'There are now two batches of. students~ Level-I.Tenn-I
of session 1992-93 and Level-ITerm-II of session 1991-92 in the
1st year and one batch of students. Level-II.Term-II of session
1990-91 in the 2nd year under the course system. The 3rd year
and 4th year students are studying under the annual system with
two university examinations. Part A and Part B per year.
In about two years all undergraduate students at this University
will be studying under the newly introduced course system.
Consequently the up-to-date Rules and Regulations of the Course
System as approved by the Academic Council of the University
have been incorporated in full in this calendar for information
of students. teachers and advisers.
The departmental as well as non-departmental courses together
With details of courses offered to undergraduate students of this
Department are presented here. The equivalence between the
courses under the annual system with the new courses under the
course system are also presented here for the annual system
students transferring to the course system in any year.
The postgraduate degree programme follows the Semester
System. The rules and regulations of the postgraduate
programme together with an up-ta-date details of postgraduate
courses of the- department have been incorporated fOTthe new
postgraduate students.
Some general information about this university. its '.historical
background, faculties and teaching departments and the
university administration have been included.
The list of teachers in the Department of Electrical and
Electronic Engineering, fields of interest of teachers offering
postgraduate courses, laboratories and research facilities in the
ever increasing horizon of Electrical and. Electronic
Engineering are presented.
The undergraduate students are well advised to be in touch with
their advisers to be aware of any changes made by the
University in Rules and Regulations or Courses under the Course
System.The postgraduate students should be in touch with-their
supervisors for similar reasons.
A good number. of both senior and junior colleagues in the
department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering have helped
in preparing this publication; They deserve sincere appreciation
of all teachers in the department.
