Abstract:
A metallodendrimer is a type of dendrimer with incorporated metal atoms. The development of this type of material is actively pursued in academia. Metal can be situated in the repeated unit, the core or at the extremities as end group. There are multiple applications of metallodendrimer such as molecular electronics, catalysis, drug delivery etc. For the growing applications, it was planned to develop a facile and convenient method for the synthesis of lanthanum and yttrium mediated metallodendrimer molecules based on diazine.
A convenient method for the synthesis of metallodendrimer compounds (5-7) was developed from the reaction of diazine (2, 4, 6-tri ammino pyrimidine) with different aroylchloride (2-4) in presence of La(NO3)3.6H2O at room temperature as shown in Scheme 1.
2, 5 R = C6H4OCH3 (p)
3, 6 R = C6H5
4, 7 R = C6H4NO2 (p)
Scheme: 1
Another method for the synthesis of metallodendrimer (9-10) was developed from the reaction of 2, 4, 6-tri ammino pyrimidine with aroylchloride (4, 8) in presence of Y(NO3)3.nH2O. at room temperature as shown in Scheme 2.
4, 9R = p-NO2C6H4
8, 10 R = p-ClC4H4
Scheme: 2
All the synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR spectroscopy to establish the structure. X-ray diffraction for crystallinity, Tharmo Gravimetric Analysis for thermal stability. EDX was taken for metal detection and elemental analysis. SEM was also taken for analysis of surface morphology
