Abstract:
Dendrimers are highly branched, globular, multivalent, monodisperse molecules with synthetic versatility and many possible applications ranging from catalysis to electronics and drug delivery. Due to versatile applications it was planned to develop a method to synthesis nickel mediated metallodendrimer molecules based on triazine.
A convenient method for the synthesis of metallodendrimer compounds (7-11) was developed from the reaction of triazine (melamine) with different aroylchlorides (2-6) in presence of (Ph3P)2NiBr2 at room temperature as shown in scheme 1

3, 8 R= C6H4CH3 (p)
4, 9 R= C6H4Cl (p)
5, 10 R= C6H5
6, 11 R= C6H4NO2 (P)

Another method for synthesis of metallodendrimer (12-13) was developed from the reaction of melamine with different nickel salt (NiCl2, NiNO3) and aroylchloride as shown in scheme 2, 3.

All the synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR spectrophotometry to establish the structure. EDX was taken for metal investigation for elemental analysis and SEM was also taken for analysis of surface morphology. The Compounds were found having a homogeneous and non-homogeneous morphology with the particle size range from 100 µm to 500 µm. The particle sizes detected by SEM indicated that, all the molecules were supramolecules.
