Abstract:
The business nowadays has become very competitive as technology becomes an influential part of it. Users/customers are becoming more aggressive in terms of user privileges and time management. That’s why the companies, corporate offices, different food chains, shops, etc, are using technology to make it more convenient to the users or customers. The availability of computer networks and cheap obtainable internet connections forced the business processes to be online almost in every field. When a user or customer wants to reach a company or a shop, he/she first visits the website or its pages on different social platforms and interacts with it. During this interaction part, ChatBot has become a very popular way to connect with the customer or users. A ChatBot is an automated Bot that contacts the user, makes communications with him/her, processes the user’s query, and gives a reply to the questions and preserves the conversations for the admin. This motivates the current project of developing a query reply system (ChatBot) to automate the mode of communication. In this project, a ChatBot has been developed to handle the queries of a University from the students especially during the admission period. The ChatBot answers mostly the queries relating student admission process automatically. Sometimes an applicant may face difficulties during the application submission or he/she may have queries that require immediate attention. Also, there may be future students who wish to get information related to the university and its curriculum. Nowadays, emails are used as the primary mode of communication involving dedicated personnel for answering the queries. Queries may generate similar responses, but the job requires time and attention to each reply which may become worse during admission due to the vast number of queries. Instead, it is more convenient if queries can be handled through an interactive system with intelligence which is automated and require less supervision. The project considers current admission processing system at Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology as a case study.
