Abstract:
In this work, a novel MnO2 nanoparticle incorporated MoS2 nanoflower (MoS2/MnO2) was created using an easy hydrothermal process with varying MnO2 concentrations(0 wt.%, 2 wt.%, 4 wt.%, and 6 wt.%). For MoS2 and MoS2/MnO2, the Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM) images show a three-dimensional flower-like structure. The XRD analysis was used to assess the various structural characteristics of the nanomaterials, which validates the phase purity of MoS2/MnO2.The interplanar spacing of the nanostructures changed with the concentration of the MnO2 nanoparticles, according to Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) analysis and MoS2/MnO2 (6 wt.%) exhibits extended 0.67 nm inter-planar spacing. From the electrochemical investigation, the MoS2/MnO2 (6 wt.%) was shown to have a specific capacitance of up to 199.12Fg-1 at 0.04 Ag-1 current density, high energy density, and exceptional cyclic stability (90% capacitance retention even after 10000 charging/discharging cycles).Due to the produced sample's increased surface area, defect-rich structure, and reduced charge transfer resistance, the specific capacitance of MoS2/MnO2 has improved. The creation of effective and affordable energy storage devices will be made possible by the MoS2/MnO2 nanostructure, which has enhanced specific capacitance and higher stability.
