dc.description.abstract Magnetic and structural properties of melt spun Fe75C10P15 ribbon have been studied as a function of magnetic field and temperature. As made samples are found to be amorphous in nature as confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis. Structural transformation of Fe75C10P15 alloy from the amorphous state to the crystalline state in different phases has been studied by differential thermal analysis(DTA). The sample is annealed at different temperatures around the glass transition temperature and corresponding X-ray analysis have been performed to identify the different phases nucleated due to annealing. DTA analysis, room temperature resistivity, temperature dependant resistivity, magnetoresistance, temperature dependant magnetoresistance, magnetization ,Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) analysis, Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis have been measured. The resistivity has increased slowly with temperature. At low temperature, the resistivity increased and has decreased monotonically with the increasing temperature. Again at high temperature resistivity slightly decreased with the increase of temperature .The magnetic impurities, scattering and topological spin disorder are thought to be responsible for the increase of resistivity of the sample. The magneto resistance of the studied sample varied as a function of applied magnetic field at room temperature and also at high temperature. Magnetization measurement shown a saturation of around 44.88 emu/gm. DTA measurement shows that an exothermic peak arises above 690 K for the sample which indicates the onset of crystallization of the grains. SEM images shown a uniform surface texture of the sample Fe75C10P15 . EDX spectra shown that all the elements of the studied sample are present in their proportional from indicating a homogeneity and good quality of the sample. en_US
