dc.description.abstract Most common form of adaptive array system is uniformly spaced. i.e, the system in which spacings between antenna elements are the same. But to maintain such uniform spacings is hard to achieve. And slight variation in spacing may cause erroneous results. The present work studies elaborately the behaviour of the adaptive array system with nonuniform spacing between the elements. The effect of nonuniformity, number of noise sources and number of elements in the array are studied in detail and suitable algorithm is developed so that the performance of nonuniformly spaced antenna array, and uniformly spaced antenna array can be fortuitously juxtaposed and thus can overcome the problems encountered by uniformly spaced array: en_US
